the ground is shifting intermezzo concave figs – part i figs – part ii a measure of distance peaches and cream reading to the window 00:00 to 00:04 may it be a polar day attempt pressIntermezzo is a concrete poem reflecting on transformation and the process of translation. Through punctuation and blank spaces, Intermezzo oscillates between Spanish and English, emulating one tongue becoming another. The poem was first commissioned by De Gids Journal, a renowned Dutch literary journal for their issue on Multilingualism. It was later transformed into a sound piece in collaboration with sound artist Constanza Castagnet and exhibited as a performance in de Brakke Grond.
